Editor’s Message: Caribbean American Heritage Month

I am so happy to say that June is Caribbean American Heritage Month in the US. It has been recognized as such since 2006. (See www.caribbeanamericanmonth.org) People of Caribbean heritage have been positively contributing to all aspects of life in America. We are artists, healers, entertainers, educators, leaders, and the list goes on and on. We are resilient and strong. I was born to Trinidadian parents and I am extremely proud to be a Caribbean American.

The Caribbean American Carnival culture is steadily on the rise, with Carnivals in many major cities in America. I hope you enjoy issue #2 of Mas Hysteria. This quarterly newsletter will always be filled with fun and interesting information about our rich Carnival culture. Enjoy!
